What's important to you about these photos?
I take joy in the humanity expressed in little things--accumulations and arrangements that are unassuming, unpolished, and unrehearsed. I thrill at glimpses of life through fences, crevices, and windows.

It's also about community. The small plots of land around houses, with their plum trees, jasmine blossoms, mikan and loquat, make neighborhood tangible. Most of the things I shoot are in the process of disappearing, and I want to show people what community looked and felt like.
